The two worldviews I am aware of most are the Externally Based one (physics drives events), and the Internally Based one (where my intention drives events). This table describes the differences.
character | proponents | what's missing | |
---|---|---|---|
external view | automatic cause-and-effect | Feynmann, Plato | conscious intention |
internal view | intentional cause-and-effect | Buddha, psychics | energy measurement |
First the world seems to be behaving in cause-and-effect mode (the red ball moves, the green ball listens), then spirit and intention seem to be in control (the green ball moves, the red ball listens), then it transitions back to cause and effect interaction (the red ball again moves more).
